[Health_Education_Promotion] 2011 Youth Photo Contest- Save the Date

The time is approaching for Oregon's third annual Youth Photo Contest, "The Way I See It: A Youth Perspective on Public Health.".  The Photo Contest is designed to engage young people in thinking about what Public Health is and how it affects their lives.  The contest is open to Oregon youth, ages 12-18.  Submissions for the contest will take place February 1- March 1, 2011. See the attached Save the Date to find more information regarding the contest. 
 
Now is the time to begin planning!  We encourage all of you who work with directly youth, schools and/or local public health to think about how to encourage young people within your communities to participate in the contest.  For example, Photography and Health teachers may decide to work the contest into their lesson plans.  Public Health agencies may use the contest as a youth empowerment project within their community.  (See the attachment for more ideas).
