ICTC has several national Doula trainings approaching this year. I am sharing our update with my contacts and asking that they share the information with their contacts.  If you would please keep this information and also forward it along through your database I would greatly appreciate it.

ICTC Trains Black Doulas Nationwide and We May Be  Stopping in Your State!

 

The International Center for Traditional Childbearing (ICTC) continues their unique Full Circle Doula Training Program nationwide.  This program is grounded on the African American midwife legacy and a public health model. Since 2007 ICTC has trained over 300 doulas, 85% being women of color. They have continued their trainings since; strengthening the number of Black doulas and doulas of color around the world.
 
Outside Oregon, ICTC has over 12 state and regional representatives working hard to spread the word about the healthy baby initiative and now with the support of five new state reps in MO, MI, DC IL, and SC and a new SE Regional Representative who are well versed in the areas of midwifery, doulas and over all health, we can strengthen our agenda of reducing infant mortality and promoting breastfeeding rates in the African American and Black community. The 1st Full Circle Doula Training kick-off takes place on March 10-13, 2011 in Portland, Oregon, the home of ICTC's main Headquarters. We may have our next training in your state or region.
