The Health Promotion & Chronic Disease Prevention (HPCDP) section of
the
Oregon Public Health Division is pleased to announce that we are
recruiting
for three temporary positions. These jobs are integral to the work of
HPCDP, and successful applicants will provide leadership around key
initiatives. The three temporary positions are: 
- Indoor Clean Air Act Administrative Rules and Certification Lead
- Indoor Clean Air Act Rules and Certification Coordinator
- Worksite Surveys Coordinator

Indoor Clean Air Act Administrative Rules and Certification Lead 
Salary:$23.08 - $24.73 Hourly 
Job Type:Temporary (six months to one year; number of hours per week
to
be
determined)
Location: Portland, Oregon
Agency: Oregon Health Authority-Public Health Division, Tobacco
Prevention &
Education Program

Duties & Responsibilities: 
The Oregon Public Health Division's Tobacco Prevention and Education
Program
Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention Section is seeking a
temporary
Indoor Clean Air Act Administrative Rules and Certification Lead. This
exciting opportunity includes leading the process of adopting
administrative
rules for the implementation of new legislation amending the Oregon
Smokefree
Workplace Law. Responsibilities include drafting rules and preparing
other
documents as required by the Administrative Procedures Act, convening
and
staffing a rulemaking advisory committee, and developing procedures
and
systems for certification and tracking of smoke shop applications. 
Qualifications: 
Experience with policy development and analysis, and management of
projects
with public involvement including diverse partners. Strong written and
verbal
communication skills. Legal experience desired.

Duties & Responsibilities: 
The Oregon Public Health Division's Tobacco Prevention and Education
Program
is seeking a temporary Indoor Clean Air Act Rules and Certification
Coordinator. This position will provide coordination and
administrative
support related to Oregon's Smokefree Workplace Law and the adoption
of
administrative rules and procedures. Responsibilities will include
attending
rulemaking advisory committee meetings, taking minutes, managing
correspondence and preparing documents for committee review.
Responsibilities
will also include supporting the implementation of a tracking system
for smoke
shop certification. 
Qualifications: 
Attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills,
and
proficiency in data management and Excel.

Worksite Surveys Coordinator 

Salary:$20.46 - $21.50 Hourly

Duties & Responsibilities: 
The Oregon Public Health Division's Health Promotion and Chronic
Disease
Prevention Section is
seeking a Worksite Surveys Coordinator. This
position's
primary responsibility will be planning and administering the Employer
Worksite Health Promotion Survey, which will be sent to several
thousand
employers in Oregon. This survey, previously conducted in 2005 and
2008,
collects information about the degree to which Oregon worksites
support
healthful environments and policies for their employees. 
The Worksite Surveys Coordinator position will also assist with
administration, quality control and possibly data analysis for the
Behavioral
Risk Factor Surveillance System Survey of State and School Employees
(BSSE).
The BSSE, which has been conducted four times previously, collects
information
from Oregon school and state employees about their health-related
behaviors
and conditions. 
Qualifications: 
Attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills,
and
proficiency in data management and Access.  
Proficient using at least one statistical software package, such as
SPSS, SAS
or Stata.
