The OPHA Annual Conference & Meeting is the premier public health event in
Oregon. Since 1944 our region’s public health leaders, professionals,
advocates, students and stakeholders have come together to share the latest
in research, programs, and information with each other. Join us for this
important, informative, and inspiring public health event!
The Oregon Public Health Association invites proposals for our 69th Annual
Conference & Meeting in Corvallis, Oregon on October 14 & 15 2013. OPHA
2013 will feature keynote speeches by Dr. Ted Schettler and Senator Jeff
Merkley and include over 36 sessions and a poster session, as well as
plenty of networking opportunities and an exhibit hall.
Abstracts are now being accepted through *June 17, 2013*. Abstracts
addressing all public health topics are welcome and may be submitted for
individual presentations, panel discussions, or posters.
****You do not need to be a member of OPHA to present at the conference. A
fully paid conference registration is required of all presenters: no
exceptions.*
*Individual Oral Presentation:* Oral presentations are 15 minutes in length
and are grouped according to theme into a single session that is 1 hour 15
minutes in length. Normally there are three 15 minute oral presentations
per session allowing 30 minutes for questions and discussion.
*Panel Discussion:* Panel discussions are 1 hour 15 minutes in length,
including time for questions. Due to time constraints only a limited number
of panel discussions will be accepted and offered at the conference.
*Poster:* Posters are visual presentations displayed on 8’ x 4’ bulletin
boards. During the Poster Session, presenters stand next to their displays
to explain content and answer questions. The poster session is scheduled
for Monday, October 14 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
Abstracts will be peer reviewed and accepted on the basis of the following
criteria:
- Clarity and Quality
- Usefulness of the topic to public health professionals
*Instructions:* To submit an abstract, visit www.oregonpublichealth.org,
and fill out the proposal submission form located on the conference web
page of the site. All submissions must include learning objectives.
- All presenters must be available at any time during the two days of
the conference.
- Deadline for proposal submissions is June 17, 2013. No abstracts will
be accepted after this date.
- Presenters will be notified by August 16, 2013.
