*NPHW kickoff forum*To kick off NPHW, APHA will host a forum to kick off a
nationwide discussion on “Creating the Healthiest Nation Through System
Transformation <http://action.apha.org/site/R?i=kdOWACxJB26yK2bExxsJYg>” on
Monday, April 7, at 1 pm EDT. The event will feature a panel discussion on
how the public health community can work in tandem with traditional and
nontraditional partners to champion health for all and implement strategies
to close the gap on health disparities.

Speakers will include an introduction from APHA Executive Director Georges
Benjamin, MD, and a keynote address from Health and Human Services
Assistant Secretary for Health Howard Koh, MD, MPH. The event will be held
at the Kaiser Family Foundation in Washington, DC, and will also be a live
webcast to provide accessibility across the country.

*A Public Health Approach to Prescription Drug Overdose Prevention*
Join APHA and CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control for a

the importance of prescription drug overdose prevention. Hosted
by Emory University Rollins School of Public Health, the live presentation
will take place Tuesday, April 8. Viewers will be able to log in the day of

*Leading health indicators webinar*The U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services and APHA will cosponsor a webinar on the leading health indicators
on Tuesday, April 8, at 2 p.m.

Join us to learn about progress in improving the leading health indicators,
which are key components of the Healthy People 2020 initiative. The webinar

*NIOSH N95 Day *Hosted by CDC's National Institute for Occupational Safety
and Health, N95 Day is a national awareness day to educate workers on how
to properly protect themselves from workplace health risks. Every year,
over 20 million American workers use personal protective equipment to
protect themselves from potential job hazards. This year’s theme,
“Respirator Preparedness: Where Technology Meets Good Practices,”
encourages proper use of respiratory protection and addresses some of the
most puzzling questions about N95s. Events include an interactive webinar,
