JANUARY WEBINAR:
ADHD, the Brain, & the Classroom: The ABCs of Teaching the ADHD Learner

Friday, January 23, 2015, 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. CST
Presented by Christl Reinig-Everett, PhD, CTN

Many missed days of work happen because of families who are working with special needs children. These children grow up and become employees! Not only do we have those with ADHD, but we are seeing an increase of veterans with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) reentering the work force. How can we adjust our training techniques to incorporate different learning styles? How do we incorporate movement in our daily work life to increase productivity?

Right brain, left brain, frontal lobe, parietal lobe . . . what do these frequently used terms mean to the "ADHDer"? Why does the ADHD brain react differently than that of others?

Attendees will explore the cognitive functions of the left and right hemispheres of the brain, gain knowledge of the responsibilities of each hemisphere, and learn what happens when they don't communicate with each other. Several resources are provided in this webinar to allow the attendee the opportunity to apply what they have learned. This session is presented using education best practices to give educators, parents, and loved ones examples of how to incorporate a variety of teaching techniques to reach all of the senses and learning styles.

CECH available: 1

Cost: Free for NWI members; $55 for non-members
