Hello Tribal Coordinators and Administrators,
We still have space for participants in the DHPE Shaping Policy for Health Domain Trainings. I'm resending the documents with detailed information. Anyone interested in attending one or more of these can complete the attached participation form and return it to me by May 31st.

Please let me know if you have any trouble with the form. I'm happy to send it in a different format if needed.

Thank you,
Kati

Subject: Dates for: Directors of Health Promotion and Education Competency-based Health Policy and Environmental Change Training opportunity

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for your patience as I have worked to finalize the dates for the August and October DHPE trainings in Oregon.

Domain 1: Assessing the Framing the Policy Problem will take place in Central Oregon (Bend or Warm Springs) on August 9th and 10th.

Domain 2: Using Policy Analysis Tools will take place in La Grande in October 16th and 17th.

I will have dates for the remaining three domains by mid-summer.

Thank you, and please let me know what questions come up as you continue to consider this opportunity.

Kati

Dear Tribal Health Administrator,

The Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention Section is excited to offer the Directors of Health Promotion and Education (DHPE) curricula, Shaping Policy for Health: DHPE's Competency-based Health Policy and Environmental Change Training five domain trainings. We have space for up to 20 people to participate. Attendees can include TPEP or Healthy Communities program coordinators, health department administrator or managerial staff, regional equity coalition lead agencies staff, or funded partners.

Aligned with the core functions and 10 essential services of public health, the Shaping Policy for Health domain curriculum is divided into five courses covering 21 competencies. These five, two-day workshops teach the validated policy competencies that public health practitioners need to effectively implement policy change:
1. Assessing and Framing the Policy Problem
2. Using Policy Analysis Tools
3. Influencing the Policy Change Process
4. Implementing Enacted Policies
5. Evaluating Policy Interventions

Please review the attached documents to learn more. We welcome participation registrations until May 31. We will also share these documents through our TPEP and Healthy Communities listservs in the coming days. Questions about forms and trainings can be directed to Kati Moseley at katarina.moseley at state.or.us<mailto:katarina.moseley at state.or.us> or 971-673-1002.

Thank you,
