'HISTORY DETECTIVES' ON THE PROWL

"History Detectives" is a new PBS series that investigates questions posed
by the public about some of history's mysteries. They're in production and
are looking for stories set in historic Oregon.

Their team of historians and antiquities experts will set out to answer
questions about: artifacts recently discovered whose history is unclear,
historic homes and other buildings/ facilities whose rich past may not be
fully known and family heirlooms with an unknown, or only partially known
past.

ARCHEOLOGIST POSITION OPEN

The State Historic Preservation Office in the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department is seeking exceptional candidates for appointment as a statt archeologist, located in Salem.

There is one current limited duration, full-time vacancy. 

The Staff Archeologist provides professional, legal and regulatory review of Federal projects, federally funded, licensed or permitted projects as to impact on historic and archaeological resources.  This position provides technical and professional expertise in the field of archaeology.  The position also serves as the technical resource person for staff administration for the federal  Archaeological Review Compliance and provides support staffing for Federal program areas including Comprehensive Planning (archaeology), Survey & Inventory (archaeology), and National Register (archaeology).
