Proposals to make presentations at the 2009 Northwest History and
Heritage Extravaganza are being accepted until Dec. 31.

The Extravaganza, which will take place April 15-18 includes two
conferences, the Oregon Heritage Conference and the Pacific Northwest
History Conference. It also includes the annual meetings of Northwest
Archivists and the Northwest Oral History Association.

*Rendezvous* is the Extravaganza*s theme. Its goal is to reflect
on the many ideas, multiplicity of perspectives, and convergence of
cultures that have occurred in the Oregon Country during the past 150
years. It will include both academic and practical skills sessions and
engage both professionals and volunteers.

Attendees will include community leaders, staff and volunteers from
historical societies, museums, historic cemeteries, ethnic
organizations, schools, historic preservation commissions, humanities
groups, the tourism industry, economic development, public and academic
historians, archaeologists, youth, and local, tribal, state and federal
governments.

Proposals should include a proposed title, a 250-word synopsis of the
content and goals of the presentation, audio-visual requirements, target
audience, and whether it is an individual presentation, a full session,
a roundtable, or a technical training. In addition, include your name,
affiliation, and contact information, and the names of any other session
participants.

Submit your proposals to the Extravaganza Programs Committee at
heritage.info at state.or.us. For additional information, contact Kuri
