NORTHWEST REGION ARCHITECTURAL MASTERS SUBJECT OF TALK
You’re probably familiar with the names Louis Sullivan, Frank Lloyd
Wright, and Pietro Belluschi, but what about Gropius, Saarinen, or
Bailey? Chrissy Curran, Associate Deputy of the Oregon State Historic
Preservation Office, will explore the rise of modernism and its impact
on the built environment in her talk “The Modern Masters - from
International Style to Northwest Regional” from 10 – 11:30 a.m., July 21
at the Architectural Heritage Center, 701 SE Grand Ave., Portland.
Curran’s introduction to the “masters of modern architecture”, both at
home and abroad, will place into historic context the personalities
associated with the development of modernism from the late 19th century
through the 1960s and help us understand why a relatively small group of
architects had such far-reaching influence. For more information, visit

a.m., July 21, and Sumpter Dredge State Park, 575 SW Dredge Loop Road,
