HERITAGE EXCHANGE FEATURES WORLD WAR II VETERANS HIGHWAY
If you’re making plans to travel within or through central Oregon this
summer, keep an eye out for the new World War II Veterans Historic
Highway signs that dot Highway 97 marking the locations of Oregon’s
historic World War II training sites. Read the rest of the story on
Oregon Heritage Exchange at www.oregonheritage.wordpress.com.
NATIONAL TRUST OFFERS CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIPS
The National Trust for Historic Preservation is now accepting Diversity
Scholarship Program applications for the 2012 National Preservation
Conference, Oct. 30 – Nov. 3, in Spokane, Washington. The application
deadline is June 20.
The Trust seeks culturally diverse applicants whose attendance at the
conference will benefit their communities and reinforce their commitment
to historic preservation. Through interactive sessions, presentations,
informal gatherings, and tours of the host city and surrounding areas,
participants will learn the necessary tools to strengthen their
commitment and effectiveness in preserving historic places and
revitalizing communities. Diversity Scholars will also have the
opportunity to present their preservation projects to the broader
conference audience.
The Diversity Scholarship Award covers basic conference registration
and accommodations for 4 nights. Visit
