The Oregon Heritage Conference begins next week, so it's time now to register and make your travel plans.

This year's conference has the theme of "Chart Your Course" and will give you and organizations the tools and approaches to successfully navigate new cultural heritage horizons. During three days (April 22-24) in North Bend, you can attend workshops, panels and speakers on topics such as:

n Storytelling, whether it be about such things as historic site and artifacts, or for purposes of making bridges within communities or fundraising.

n Technology, including digitization and remote sensing.

n Community revitalization, including downtowns, historic theaters, tourism and disaster recovery.

n Recent scholarship, including archaeological, maps, and multi-cultural history.

Information about all of the programs, registration and lodging is available at the conference website<http://www.oregon.gov/oprd/HCD/OHC/Pages/Conference.aspx>. You need to act now, however, as the registration deadline is this week.
