VERY LAST day to get the early bird registration for the 2019 Oregon Heritage Summit

Strong board leadership is vital to the ability of an organization to meet its mission.

*         2019 Oregon Heritage Summit Scholarship<https://www.oregon.gov/oprd/HCD/OHC/docs/2019_Heritage_Summit_Scholarship.pdf> - a $300 scholarship that is available to organizations that send two or more representatives to the Summit, one of which must be a board member. First-come, first -serve.

*         Central/Southeastern Oregon Technical Assistance Scholarship - $500 available to organizations in the following counties that send one or more representatives: Grant, Harney, Malheur, Lake, Crook, Deschutes, Wheeler, and Jefferson County. Bowman Museum seeks Collections Specialist

Department: Museum
Reports To: Museum, Executive Director
Classification: Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $19.84 - $26.67

Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Museum Executive Director, the Collection Care Manager is responsible for the care and registration operations for the Museum's permanent collection. The Collection Care Manager maintains all aspects of documenting objects in the permanent collection, and objects on loan to the museum, while on exhibition, in storage, and in transit.

Qualifications:

-      B.A. in related field, such as Museum Studies, History, or Anthropology required.

-      Minimum of one year experience with PastPerfect collection management software.

-      Minimum of one year experience in museum methodology and collections management experience required, and understanding of museum legal and ethical issues.

-      Prior to or on date of hire: Able to complete a thorough employment and/or criminal history check, Able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test (not required for all positions), Final candidates will be required to provide official proof of college degree and certified transcripts (not required for all positions).

Grant writing workshop May 16-June 27 in The Dalles

A Grant Writing Workshop Series hosted by Nonprofit Board Training and Resources and The Ford Family Foundation is being offered to all area nonprofit organizations during the Spring of 2019. The workshop series is designed to help beginning and intermediate grant writers working in nonprofit organizations and governmental entities increase their skills at developing project proposals and successfully planning, writing and attaining grant funding.

Nonprofit organizations are encouraged to bring more than one board member, staff, or volunteer from each organization. The cost for the series (including lunches) is $95 per person.
