Audio preservation workshop in The Dalles, January 10

On January 10th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center is pleased to host a Historic Sound Recording Workshop, as part of a collaboration with the Oregon Heritage Commission Mentorcorps Program. You will learn how to identify what you have and how to prioritize preservation of your audio collection. We will learn together and share our collections management challenges related to audio media.  This workshop is free, but pre-registration is required to make sure we have ample space and materials. The Oregon Women's History Consortium has commemorative pins for sale. They also compiled "Teaching the Nineteenth Amendment and Oregon's Votes for Women Stories" a guide to online Oregon and national resources. Seeking consultant to measure volunteer impact

The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, is looking for a consultant/consulting firm to study the impact of volunteer time and talent that goes into preserving and promoting heritage in Oregon. Additional details on the Scope of the desired services are included in the Scope of Work section of the Request for Proposal (RFP). The RFP is advertised on the Oregon Procurement Information Network (ORPIN) at http://orpin.oregon.gov. Interested proposers must "express interest" in this opportunity to download the attached documents which contain details on the scope of work; the sample contract; and the procurement process-including required proposal content, proposal submission options, and evaluation criteria.

The deadline for questions/requests for clarification is December 23 by 5 p.m. with proposals due January 9 by 2 p.m.
