Connecting to Collections online event Aug. 5 featuring lessons learned from reopening

Reopening Cultural Institutions: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Aug. 5, 1pm PST

Panel will have an informal discussion, sharing stories from cultural heritage institutions that have reopened on what has worked well and what hasn't during these unusual times. Besides our panel sharing stories, we are also looking to the C2C Care Community who can comment along on Facebook, to share creative ideas, low cost solutions, tips, tricks, successes, and failures.

Applications open for the HartBeat of Main Street Grant Program

They will continue to be accepted until 11:59pm PT Sunday, August 23 or until 500 applications have been submitted, whichever is sooner. We will hold subsequent grant rounds to accept additional applications later this summer.

In partnership with The Hartford<https://mainstreet.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=881199cb2d0b2894c01ba06c1&id=7b9ed52f69&e=0e501fd357>, the grant program will fund solutions that help small brick-and-mortar business owners respond and adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic, and also help to revitalize and strengthen older and historic downtown commercial districts. A minimum of 50 percent of grants will benefit diverse-owned businesses, as defined by the Small Business Administration as minority, woman, veteran, disabled, and/or LGBTQ-owned.

NPS Interprecon 2020 Sept. 15-16

Interprecon 2020 is an online learning experience focused on interpretation and education featuring exciting talks presented by field-based practitioners across the NPS and beyond. Interprecon's purpose is simple: empower interpreters and educators to experiment and think differently.

The virtual gathering will help foster new and innovative ideas in interpretation, education, and coaching in the National Park Service. It's entirely free to participate! The learning experience will take place virtually September 15th and 16th, likely from Noon to 5pm Eastern.

They are inviting EVERYONE who does interpretive work - both inside the NPS and beyond - to explore the cutting edge of interpretation and education with at the event. You can sign up below to be alerted when registration opens and as more details are available.
