Talk Story micro-grant program for sharing AANHPI and AIAN stories
Talk Story Grants: Sharing Stories, Sharing Culture
Deadline: March 15, 2024
The American Indian Library Association and the Asian Pacific American Librarians Association are offering four $500 micro-grants, for the Talk Story: Sharing Stories, Sharing Culture<http://www.apalaweb.org/talkstorytogether/grant/> program. Talk Story programs may be conducted in-person or virtually.
Libraries, archives, museums, and community organizations that serve AANHPI and/or AIAN children and their families are eligible to apply. With the exception of cross-border tribal organizations, all organizations must be based in the United States or U.S. territories.

Technical Preservation Services Webinars
Advanced Training for Frequent Program Users<https://www.nps.gov/orgs/1739/webinars.htm#advanced>
Technical Preservation Services will reprise the September 26, 2023, in-person Advanced Training for Frequent Tax Incentives Program Users virtually through a series of five public webinars. These webinars focus on how the NPS and SHPOs review Historic Preservation Certification Applications (HPCAs) so that applicants may better anticipate questions and avoid incomplete applications, applications being put on hold for more information, additional conditions of approval, problematic treatment issues that can delay review of projects, and the main reasons projects go awry at the Part 3 stage.
This training was developed for consultants, architects, developers, and other frequent program users and is intended as advanced training for those already well familiar with the program and NPS certification requirements. This training is not on the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation but focused on the HPCA application process and submission requirements. A separate, companion training specifically on the Rehabilitation Standards is planned in the future.
Registration information will be shared as soon as it becomes available and will also be posted on the TPS website<https://www.nps.gov/orgs/1739/webinars.htm>.

Collection Assessment Program application deadline Feb. 28
The Collections Assessment for Preservation (CAP) program provides small and mid-sized museums with partial funding toward a general conservation assessment. The assessment is a study of all of the institution's collections, buildings, and building systems, as well as its policies and procedures relating to collections care. Participants who complete the program receive an assessment report with prioritized recommendations to improve collections care. CAP is often a first step for small institutions that wish to improve the condition of their collections.
Applications for the 2024 CAP program are now open with a deadline of February 28th.
