<p class="MsoNormal">Suggestions and proposals for sessions at the 2015 Oregon Heritage Conference are now being accepted.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Sessions related to the conference theme of “Chart Your Course” are preferred. The theme reflects the nautical nature of the Coos Bay region where the conference takes place, but also the ability of heritage organizations to find and create
successful routes through a variety of their challenges. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Challenges that will be addressed during the conference include digitization, preservation technologies, historic theaters, underwater heritage, creating the community story, bringing preservation to Main Street, identifying burial locations,
fund raising, disaster preparedness and tribal restoration.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Attendees will include community leaders, staff and volunteers from archives, records repositories, historical societies, museums, historic cemeteries, ethnic organizations, schools, historic preservation commissions, humanities groups,
Main Street programs, the tourism industry, economic development, history buffs and professional historians, youth, and local, tribal, state and federal governments.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">While presentations inform participants about best practices or innovative solutions, many are interactive or engage the audience directly. The conference will include keynote speakers, panels, workshops, and behind-the-scenes visits to
some of the area’s heritage sites and historic buildings. Proposals are requested by Nov. 28.<o:p></o:p></p>
