Beginning this month, Historic Deepwood Estate in Salem is hosting the first of four presentations that make up our 2011 Heritage Talk Series.

The first presentation will be on January 20, 2011 from 6-8 PM, and is called "Kitchen Restoration - Decisions to consider when restoring your period kitchen." Karla Petersen of Restoring History, LLC will lead this conversation for those who HAVE restored a kitchen or are INTERESTED in what it takes to restore a kitchen. The recently completed kitchen restoration at Deepwood will be used as a case study.

The talk is free and seating is limited so reservations are recommended. Call 503.363.1825 to reserve your spot!

"Why restoration? Period homes and buildings should be preserved and restored because they are irreplaceable sources of timeless beauty. And because doing so conserves energy and resources that are often wasted by remodeling, or replacing vintage structures which are generally superior in both quality and design to what is produced today." ~ Karla Petersen
