The Historic Preservation League of Oregon (HPLO) is expanding its advocacy
outreach in 2011 and invites you to participate in any of these initiatives:

Advocacy Committee - working with the HPLO Regional Advisors, tracks and
responds to local preservation opportunities around the state. Activities
include research, policy recommendations, drafting testimony or letters of
support, raising local support through publicity, and working with state
legislators. Meets quarterly or as needed.

Most Endangered Places Task Force - spotlights the most significant at-risk
properties across Oregon and supports their preservation and reuse.
Activities include soliciting nominations, review and selection, publicity,
and follow-up support. Meets 2nd Monday of each month.

Preservation Roundtable - convenes a forum of various perspectives to
identify solutions to a preservation challenge. Activities include
identifying an annual topic, organizing and publicizing Roundtable event(s),
researching and vetting solutions, and publication of a Special Report. In
2011, we'll be zeroing in on some of the recommendations - such as infill
design standards - from 2010's Special Report (find a copy on our website.)
Meeting dates as needed.

Those outside the Portland area can easily participate by conference call,
so don't let distance deter you! In addition to volunteers with
preservation, architectural, or planning backgrounds we'd love to have
participants with development, tribal, agricultural/rural, and hand's on
rehab expertise.

In addition to advocacy there are other volunteer opportunities with the
HPLO. Please click through to a sign-up sheet on our website:

We have some great work to do and appreciate your involvement!
