Don your favorite hat for the Clackamas County Historical Society's 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5, program featuring Astoria-based hat expert LaRee Johnson who will make a free presentation on ladies' headgear in history.

MOOT is open for free 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 5, thanks to the sponsorship of Danielson's Hilltop Mall,
Oregon City. Johnson will discuss hats as a mirror to women’s history.
She’ll also discuss how to preserve and protect vintage hats. Her
appearance corresponds with Women’s History Month in March.

Also on Saturday, March 5, Hats Off! - a new exhibit of hat wear - opens at the Stevens Crawford House, 603 Sixth St., Oregon City.
 Nearly 100 women's, men's and children's hats dating from the 1700s to
the 1970s will be on display. Admission is $5 to the hat exhibit; SCH is
open noon to 4 p.m. Thursday - Saturday.

Mertie Crawford (1872-1968), daughter of the Stevens Crawford House’s
original owners, spent her life in the historic home and collected
men's, women's and children's hats and other relics of the past. She had
more than 250 hats as well as clothing, shoes and accessories. The hats
on display are part of her collection.

March’s free admission to MOOT is made possible by the generous sponsorship of Danielson's Hilltop Mall.
CCHS is seeking other community partners to sponsor a program days at
