Repair

Jonathan Appell, gravestone specialist from Connecticut will conduct  
a hand-on-workshop in Hillsboro on August 8. Appell is trustee on the 

board of the Association for Gravestone Studies; and New England  
based organization, teaches repair and conservation at their annual  
conference in addition to presenting workshops around the country.  
Appell will demonstrate techniques, explain tools, and methods he  
uses, and provide information on on the properties of stones and  
their care. His specialty is teaching and mobilizing groups who want  
to learn the steps to perform basic preservation procedures.
Place: Hillsboro Pioneer Cemetery  1601 SW Baseline, just west of  
Hillsboro
