We have always recognized Eugene Skinner's daughter, Lenora, as the first white child born (1848) in Lane County.

This comment is off the subject somewhat.  If Mary Ellen Rodgers would like to contact me off list, I can offer conflicting information about the first "white" child born in the Oregon Country.  Perhaps your child is a boy rather than a girl as my ancestor was.

How can I find a list of all the historic cemeteries in Oregon? It would be very interesting to go around and visit some of them.
I didn't know until this week that St Louis cemetery the mother of the first white child born in Oregon was buried there.  There is so much history out there.

Hi Kuri:

I really thought the conversation regarding the disinterment question was valuable for me as sexton of the cemetery.
I print the information from most of the conversations and file, just in case I need to refer to them later or someone asks a question.   I was glad to see a price for a disinterment.

I hope you were able to tour the cemetery with Denny and John yesterday.
