Lone Fir is a beautiful cemetery with a lot of history. If anyone gets a chance they should visit it and read some of the headstones.
Here is the web site that talks about the history of the cemetery. http://www.oregonmetro.gov/index.cfm/go/by.web/id=12696<http://www.oregonmetro.gov/index.cfm/go/by.web/id=12696>
Would you believe that at one time the cemetery was offered to Portland to buy and the people trying to get Portland to buy it was told it was to far out of town for Portland to buy it.
I have family who came out in 1845 buried in the cemetery.
Deb

I don't know how it is being screened. I imagine the director has a website, you could inquire and have the museum host it maybe?

Wish I lived closer - would love to see this. But I have forwarded the announcement to family in Portland. Any chance it may come closer to Klamath Falls?

*Q&A with the director following the screening
Synopsis-
Block 14 in Lone Fir Cemetery, the first Chinese burial ground in Portland-and site of as many as 1,500 burials-now stands as a fenced off void of gravel after most of the remains were exhumed and shipped back to China in 1928 & 1949.
Sixty years later, Director Ivy Lin follows the footsteps of the missing 1949 shipment in an extraordinary journey from Portland to Hong Kong.
