Paisley resident appointed to state cemeteries commission
Oregon Parks and Recreation Department Director Tim Wood has appointed
Diane Elder of Paisley to the Oregon Commission on Historic Cemeteries.

                       
Elder is active in Oregon history through work with the Paisley
Cemetery, Lake County Historical Society and Oregon Geographic Names
Board among other efforts. “The commission is pleased to welcome Elder
to the group,” said Chair Dirk Siedlecki of Eagle Point. “She will
enhance the resources and reach offered by the commission and the
historic cemeteries program.”
 
The seven-member Oregon Commission on Historic Cemeteries supports OPRD
historic cemetery preservation efforts by offering training, educational
resources, coordination and grants. Its other members are Judy Juntunen
of Corvallis, Robert Keeler of Portland, Diana LaSarge of Pendleton and
Mike Leamy of Astoria and Ken Phillips of Cave Junction.

Brown Bag Get Together in Medford
Brown Bag Get Together in Southern Oregon is scheduled for Thursday,
July 14 at 12 noon at the Santo Center in Room 18. The Santo Center is
located at McAndrews and Columbus Avenues in Medford. Bring your lunch,
coffee, bottled water and dessert will be provided along with good
"Cemetery" conversation. Look forward to hearing what you all have been
up to in your cemeteries and organizations.
