EXPLANATORY STATEMENT COMMITTEE SCHEDULES MEETINGS

Initial appointments have been made to the explanatory statement
committee for Referral 403 to be voted on at the May
18, 2010 Primary Election. Chief petitioners appointed two members to
the committee and the Secretary of State
appointed two other committee members. The four appointees are
responsible for selecting a fifth committee member.
The explanatory statement committee is responsible for preparing an
impartial, simple, and understandable statement
explaining the measure, not to exceed 500 words. Upon completion of
this task, the statement will be filed with the
Secretary of State, Elections Division so that a public hearing on the
statement may be scheduled. If a statement receives
comments during the public hearing, the explanatory statement committee
must meet to review comments and consider
revisions to the statement.

The Committee Services Office will conduct a conference call meeting
with the explanatory statement committee to select
a fifth member, and subsequently hold meetings with the committee to
write and possibly revise the statement. Interested
parties may listen to the committee deliberations; however, the
committee is not required to take any public testimony.
The initial committee membership and scheduled committee meetings are
listed below. Additional information will be
publicized when available.

Authority for Lowest Cost
Borrowing for Community Colleges and Public Universities.”

Revision Meeting: Monday, March 8, 2010 at 8:00 am, Rm H-170, State
