Hello everyone,
On July 15th there will be a free training for anyone interested in organizing a Walk to School committee in their area. County Health Departments are encouraged to work with schools in their areas, School Based Health Centers can do promotions at their schools, and all you health and physical activity teachers, and parents, this is a great way to get children of all ages active!
The training will be held in Portland and there are scholarships available to pay for travel. At the training there will also be applications for mini-grants to provide some "getting started" money.
For some reason I was not able to attach the Training flyer to the email for the list. Please let me know if you are interested and I will email you a registration form and more information. You can also take a look at the Oregon website at www.walktoschooloregon.org to learn more about Walk to School.
