I am pleased to forward you the following email from the Collaborative Summer Library Program. They have created a new Diversity Section on their website. You will find links to resources on working with children with disabilities. And, an American Sign Language "Catch the Reading Bug" video.

Please, keep in mind that CSLP formed the Diversity Committee only a year or two ago, this is just the beginning of their efforts.

Subject: [statereps-cslp] ANNOUNCING! NEW DIVERSITY SECTON on CSLP website!

HELLO EVERYONE!

Thought you might wish to check out the new Diversity Section on the CSLP website! http://www.cslpreads.org/diversity/diversity.htm The Diversity Section replaces the Children With Disabilities section that was up before. We felt we needed to expand this further.

Rhonda Puntney, Chair of the Diversity Committee and her team put this together in the past month or so. Thanks too to Barb Huntington of Wisconsin who assisted Rhonda in this effort.

Thanks too to our fantastic webmaster, Dan Riefstahl, who posted this in a very timely fashion indeed. He received this item and a few other updates this Wednesday!

One very special feature is a signing video based on the "Catch the Reading Bug" theme! Barb and Rhonda worked with Mr. Dave Haldiman to put this together. The video is ten minutes long and can be downloaded as either a WMV or MOV file. Kathy Patterson is the signer and she uses American Sign Language to share signs to familiar songs that go well with our theme.

Kudos to everyone who helped with this effort! Let me know what you think!

ENJOY!
