FYI: I just found out about this performance that will debut Dragon Theater's new puppet show for the 2008 summer reading program, and between performances there will be a workshop on puppetry. Details below:
The Columbia Association of Puppeteers invites you to a full afternoon of performances and workshops on Sunday, April 27 in the performance hall at Artichoke Music, 3130 SE Hawthorne Boulevard in Portland, Oregon. There will be performances for the whole family at 2:00 and at 4:30 p.m., featuring the debut of Dragon Theater's new show for the 2008 Summer Reading Program, "Little Bugs, Big World" and Wool Horse Theater's "Wonder Tales from Africa." Between performances, audience members of all ages may participate in a workshop on manipulating a hand puppet and plotting a show, presented by Doris Hicks of the Albany Public Library. Participants get to keep the hand puppet used in the workshop. Tickets cost $15.00 for a single show, or $30.00 for the two shows and workshop. To reserve tickets in advance, please e-mail owpt at att.net or telephone (503) 233-7723. Details are available on the CAP website www.cappuppets.org
