Oncall Youth Librarian
Salary: $22.94 per hour
Deadline to Apply: Open until a sufficient number of applications are
received

Multnomah County Library in Portland, Oregon is seeking applicants to
work as On-Call Youth Librarians throughout the library system.
Individuals also interested in permanent employment as a youth librarian
at Multnomah County Library are encouraged to apply during this
recruitment since the library may use the list of on-call youth
librarians to fill permanent openings.

On-Call Youth Librarians assist all patrons, with a special emphasis on
serving youth (ages 0 to 18), families and those who work with youth.
This position performs the vital tasks of matching these patrons'
personal, educational, and recreational needs with the appropriate
information and resources, and fostering literacy in youth and families.
On-call youth librarians are often called upon to present a variety of
story programs for babies, toddlers or preschoolers in the absence of
the permanent youth librarian. Candidates who are bilingual in both
English and in one of the Library's four targeted languages (Chinese,
Russian, Spanish, or Vietnamese) are encouraged to apply.
