Are you a public, academic, or special librarian who is currently using a new technology, software, or website at your work site that has applications for school librarians? Consider sharing how you are using it with attendees at the upcoming OASL/WLMA Conference at the Portland Convention Center on Oct 9, 10, & 11, 2008. (OASL is Oregon Association of School Librarians. WLMA is Washington Library Media Association. Both are professional associations for K-12 school librarians.)

The Joint OLA/OASL Committee is writing a proposal for a session at this conference. We are planning to have a session that would work somewhat like a poster session. Five or six librarians would be presenting their innovative technologies simultaneously to small groups. After about 15 minutes the attendees would switch to another station so that all attending would be able to see another presentation and learn about four of the technology presentations over the course of an hour.

If you are interested, please send a 1 to 2 paragraph summary of the innovative technology, software, or website you would highlight if chosen to be part of this panel. Also note how you think this innovation could be adapted by school librarians.

Submissions should be sent to Katie Anderson at katie.anderson at state.or.us by Monday Feb 11. We will notify you of acceptance by March 1st.
