Community Librarian -- La Pine, Oregon

Summary
The District is seeking a proactive, creative and service-oriented community librarian for the community of La Pine, a recreational destination for hikers, kayakers and other sport enthusiasts.

As a community librarian you provide services to children, teens and adults in the La Pine community, as well as limited support for the Sunriver community. You work closely with other community librarians in the District, the Adult and Youth Community Services managers, and the La Pine supervisor to assess local needs and provide excellent services and programming. Enjoy active participation in local projects and events while enriching lives in this rural community. You'll also have many opportunities to grow professionally as the District supports career development on many levels.

Schedule
Full time. Hours are varied with day, evening and weekend hours
Core work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday
Schedule and work location can be changed based on the needs of the district


Starting Monthly Salary Range $3,585 - $3,803 with Excellent Benefits


QUALIFICATIONS and DESIRED EXPERIENCE
Excellence in developing and working with community partners, creating and providing library services and programs and strong readers' advisory skills are vital for success in this position. Proficiency with storytime skills, public speaking, technology, and reader's advisory is essential.

Requires MLS and demonstrated experience and success with children, teen, and adult services * Must be a self-starter and effective in teams.

Necessary special requirements: Must be able to travel and to provide own transportation to other district locations for work assignments and/or training.
