Voting for the Beverly Cleary Children’s Choice Award (BCCCA) nominations is now open to all children in schools and public libraries! Children with reading levels of K-5th grades can have their votes submitted if they have read or listened to at least two of the books!

From March 15 – April 10th, the BCCCA Online Voting Ballot is available for the adult administering the contest to complete.

Librarians or teachers should enter the school/public library voting totals using the Google BCCCA Online Voting Ballot.  Students do not enter their votes online. Only the adult administering the BCCCA program enters the final tallies.   Please submit all students’ votes for all titles. All online ballots MUST be received by April 10th to be counted. Thank you.

•        Show your students the powerpoint presentation (with music) and/or the short video clips that accompany the BCCCA nominations.


•        Read aloud as many of this year’s six nominations as possible to students.



•        Remind children that as long as they’ve read or listened to TWO or more of the BCCCA nominations, each child can vote for their one very favorite title. Students just need to realize that they’ll need to finish at least 2 of the books by the date that the adult administering the BCCCA program chooses to end the contest.


•         When it comes to the actual voting period, run off the brand new BCCCA Student Ballot 2015-2016 and/or display the current BCCCA nominations in the front of the room.  https://ola.memberclicks.net/bccca-how-to-vote

The winning title will be announced on Beverly Cleary’s 100th birthday, April 12, 2016!
