[kids-lib] Dog Man program ideas

Hi there-
McMinnville Public Library recently hosted a Dog Man & Friends event because we received a kit and book giveaways from Children's Book Council.
I know we're always strapped on time, so I wanted to share materials. Feel free to copy!

Drop-In program 1.5 Hours, with several activity stations. We're lucky to have lots of teen volunteers who could assist at each table. We posted photos recently on our library's Facebook and Instagram (@mcmlibrary) if you're like me and need to see something to get a feel for it.

  *   Each kid got a booklet to fill out, attached
  *   Coloring station (color their booklet cover, or print more pages from Scholastic<https://www.scholastic.com/content/dam/scholastic/site/pilkey/dog-man/Dav-Pilkey-Print-Coloring-Page-DogMan-Coloring-Book.pdf>)
  *   K-9 Sniff test. We used sliced onions, lemons, cheetos, mustard, and something else that I've already forgotten. I tried the double-cup method<https://inventorsoftomorrow.com/2017/03/16/science-of-smell-for-kids/> but some of the scents didn't come through strong enough, so I just covered it with paper towels.

  *   Professor Poopypants Silly Names, attached


I probably had too many stations, but... you know how easy it is to get carried away.
