Youth Services Division--Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, Corvallis
Oregon, Reference Librarian.  Half Time to Three Quarter Time, Regular
Position. Provide direct public service on a busy reference desk; respond to
requests for information, provide story times and programs for children and
their caregivers, both on and off site, assist patrons in the use of library
materials and services, and participate in collection development. Assist
Division Manager to analyze, improve, and develop procedures and services.
Requires MLS from an ALA-accredited program.  Applicants with 80 percent of
their degree completed with the ability to complete the degree within six
months from hire, will also be considered.  Requires knowledge of child
development, children's literature, and the ability to plan, promote and
conduct programs, including story times is essential.  Ability to assist
with the implementation of existing and emerging technologies such as web
page and online catalog development and maintenance.    Ability to pass a
background check and/or criminal history check. Salary range: $18.31 -
$22.43 (w/o PERS; $19.41 - $23.78 (w/PERS).  Send City of Corvallis
