The final presentation this spring in the College of
DuPage teleconference series on reference services
will take place May 2, 2003. The series is free to Oregon
libraries and is co-sponsored by the State Library and the
Bibliographical Center for Research (BCR).
Virtual Reference: A Leadership View
College of DuPage Presentation
Friday May 2, 2003
9am-11am PT
This presentation will bring you another view of the future
of virtual reference services, the perspective of two
industry leaders, Frank Hermes, Vice President of Cooperative
Discovery Services of OCLC and, Phil Kesten, Chair of the
Department of Physics at Santa Clara University and founder of
Docutek. They will give you their view of the future and
John Berry, past president of ALA, will lead a panel of
librarians to ask questions to give you the kind of information
you need to plan for the future of reference services at your library.
Panel members and viewers will be able to give them feedback
(by phone, FAX, e-mail). This is your chance to give industry
leadership a professional librarians perspective and take away
a better command of the future of reference services tools.
Additional information about the presentation may be found at
