[Libs-Or] Youth Services position opening - Washington County, Oregon

Washington County Cooperative Library Services is recruiting a Youth
Services Librarian (Librarian I) for the West Slope Community Library.  This
position will plan and present storytimes and programs for youth, select and
order materials for the children's and young adult collections, provide
reference and reader's advisory services for children and adults, publicize
children's events and implement Summer Reading Programs.  The position
requires Master's level training in library science form an ALA accredited
program and experience working in a library providing services to children
or young adults.  The position will require occasional evening or weekend
work.  This is the only Youth Services position and one of two Librarian
positions in the library.

West Slope Community Library is a true "neighborhood" library in the Raleigh
Park - West Slope area, playing a central role in the neighborhood and
enjoying a high level of community support.  The library is located on the
grounds of the Raleigh Park Elementary School and has a strong children and
family service focus.  The Betty Snodgrass Memorial Children's Room is newly
dedicated and refurbished after a fire in 2002 that closed that part of the
library.  West Slope Community Library is a member of Washington County
Cooperative Library Services and is the only public library in WCCLS that is
managed by the County.  

The salary range is $3037 - $3693/mo. and appointments are typically made at
