JOB TITLE:             Law Librarian for Lane County, County Counsel
                          (.75 FTE, 3/4 time)
CLOSING DATE:   January 5, 2004, 5:00 p.m.
CITY & STATE:      Eugene, OR

DESCRIPTION:
Assists in the formulation of library policies.  Develops implementation 
procedures to ensure adherence to policies.  Develops and maintains library 
collection by identifying and acquiring appropriate legal research and 
reference materials.  Identifies, classifies, catalogs and arranges all 
library materials.  Prepares, recommends and administers the library 
budget.  Generates appropriate financial reports and presents information 
to County Counsel and the Advisory Committee.  Provides professional law 
library reference services using automated legal research systems, the 
Internet, and traditional research methods.  Creates and maintains web 
sites, both Internet and Intranet.  In conjunction with the Information 
Services Department, selects, acquires and maintains hardware and software 
associated with the Law Library's information systems and 
infrastructure.  Provides staff support to the Law Library Advisory 
Committee.  Develops special reports for the County and the Advisory 
Committee as requested.  Designs, develops and distributes informational 
materials to inform patrons of Law Library services.  Plans long-range 
facility needs such as location, furniture, lighting, and space 
configuration.  Participates in and maintains professional society 
memberships and relationships; and related work as required.

REQUIRED:   Master's degree in library science.  Three years of 
increasingly responsible experience as a librarian, including one year 
of  lead responsibility.

SALARY: $18.57-$25.71/hour (for 3/4 part-time).
