[Libs-Or] SB 12 Administrative Rules Revision Committee Meeting

At the request of the Oregon Library Association, the State Library 
Board of Trustees has established a committee to draft administrative 
rule revisions that would be needed if SB 12, the Senate Interim Task 
Force on Library Cooperation bill, were to pass in this session of the 
Legislative Assembly.

The members of the committee are Jim Hayden from the State Library 
Board of Trustees, Deborah Carver and Cindy Gibbon, representing the 
Oregon Library Association, Margo Jensen, representing the Oregon 
Educational Media Association, and Jim Scheppke, State Librarian.

The first meeting of the Committee is scheduled for Thursday, May 22nd, 
from 3 to 5 p. m. in the Second Floor Conference Room of the State 
Library in Salem.  The meeting is a public meeting.  The committee will 
review SB 12 and OAR Chapter 543, discuss needed changes, and appoint a 
subcommittee to draft revisions that will be considered at a second 
meeting (to be scheduled at the May meeting).  At the second meeting, 
the committee will hold a public hearing on the draft revisions to 
enable members of the library community to give feedback to the 
committee.
