Help!

Is anyone out there indexing their local paper on a computer (other than the State Library's Oregon Index)? If so, would you be willing to share your experience and expertise?

We'd like to convert our card file index for the Woodburn Independent to a database and make it searchable. As our technical expertise grows, we'd like to make the database web accessible.

Anyone done a project like this? Or care to chime in with recommendations on how to proceed?
