The Cornelius Public Library has been named Library of the Month by
WebJunction. org; WebJunction salutes as its library of the month "the
innovative,
ambitious, and just plain fabulous libraries whose public access
programs really
work for their communities."
The article <http://www.webjunction.org/do/Navigation?category=28>
focuses on Cornelius Public Library's response to the challenge of
growth and change in their community, and especially the outreach the
library has achieved to the Latino community through community
partnerships and grass roots efforts.
WebJunction is "an online community of libraries and other agencies
sharing knowledge and experience to provide the broadest public access
to information technology." Created under a partnership of OCLC, the
Benton Foundations, the Colorado State Library, Isoph and Tech Soup, the
http://www.WebJunction.org site provides resources and tools for
libraries, including policies and practices, technology resources, a
buying guide, a learning center with online courses and a community
center with discussion groups on various topics.
