Know Kidding, The Best of the Best in Youth Services
<http://www.imls.gov/closer/archive/hlt_l0404.htm> ...Dealing with
overenthusiastic parents and initiating reference interviews with shy
children are just two of the challenges of being a youth services
librarian. For the past two years Sharon Ball, a consultant with the
North Suburban Library System of Wheeling, Illinois, has overseen the
compilation, publication, and distribution of a 723-page youth services
handbook entitled Know Kidding, The Best of the Best in Youth Services.
Using LSTA funding, Ball was able to print 1,000 copies of the handbook
and send one to every Illinois public library and public library branch.
