The School of Library and Information Management, Emporia State
University, seeks to hire an Assistant Director for its Master of
Library Science degree program in Portland.

This half-time position will assist and report to the Director of the
SLIM-Oregon Distance Education Program.  The position requires an MLS
degree, residency in the Portland, Oregon, vicinity and web site design
experience.  Experience in student advising and event management
preferred.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Manage student recruitment for each new cohort of the SLIM-Oregon
Distance Education Program; create, maintain, and regularly update a web
site for the SLIM-Oregon Distance Education Program; supervise students
within the cohort enrolling in LI 870XO; manage the SLIM presence at the
annual meeting of the Oregon Library Association; work with the Director
of ICE to initiate Continuing Education opportunities and the SLIM
Library Services Certificate Program in Oregon.  Some weekend work
required.
