Reports to the Head of Reference & Research Services.  Responsibilities 
include developing collections and services that support the curriculum and 
research for the Psychology Department. Other disciplines may be included, 
depending on the candidate's background and the Library's needs. Provides 
general and subject-specific reference services, primarily for the 
humanities and social sciences. Develops and presents library and 
course-integrated instruction, including credit courses and information 
technology workshops.

Required: ALA-accredited MLS (granted by 6-30-04); relevant experience, 
strong academic background and/or demonstrated interest in the social 
sciences; knowledge of scholarly research in the social sciences; 
understanding of trends, issues, and specialized sources in social sciences 
research; familiarity with electronic resources, including databases and 
authoritative Internet sites; ability to work both independently and 
creatively in a team environment; teaching ability and interest; and 
effective oral and written communication skills.

Desired: Undergraduate or M.A. degree in psychology or related social 
science discipline; internship or prior experience providing 
reference/instruction services; reading/speaking knowledge of Spanish; 
demonstrated professional development activity.

Salary: $33,000 min., depending on qualifications and prior experience.
