Deschutes Public Library is extremely pleased to welcome young adult author Gail Giles to Central Oregon on Tuesday, March 9, 2004. A free presentation open to the public will be held at 7:00 pm at the Summit High School Auditorium [2855 NW Clearwater Drive, Bend].
 
Giles is the author of Shattering Glass a YALSA 2003 Quick Pick for Reluctant Readers, a YALSA 2003 Best Book for Young Adults, and a Booklist Top Ten Mystery for Youths, and Dead Girls Don't Write Letters, which was chosen as one of this year's "Teens Top Ten," a list created by teens and sponsored by YALSA. Her third novel for young adults, Playing in Traffic, due out March 2004, continues her creation of suspenseful, psychological thrillers that appeal to both teen guys and girls.
