Description
This position is in the Hamersly Library at Western Oregon University. This is a regular, half-time (.50 FTE) position and is represented by the Service Employees International Union/Oregon Public Employees Union.

Duties
Under the supervision of the Technical Services Librarian, this position is responsible for managing and facilitating patron access to serials and electronic resources selected for inclusion in the library’s collection. Specific duties include: processing claims for serials issues, maintaining the library’s Journal Title List database, creating and maintaining check-in records in the online catalog, and maintaining holdings information in various databases.

Qualifications 
Required: One year of experience as a Library Technician, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience with web authoring/publishing. Accurate keyboarding skills and proficiency with Microsoft Windows. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, web browsing, and web authoring applications. Proficiency in written and spoken English, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to evolving technology, and complete detailed work accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Desired: Experience with library serials or electronic resources management. Proficiency with one or more computer programming or scripting languages. Reading knowledge of at least one western European language other than English. Bachelor's degree.
