The Oregon State Library is recruiting to fill the half-time position of
Fund Development Officer assigned to the Talking Book and Braille Services
(TBABS) team.
The primary purpose of this position in TBABS is to implement a fund
development program that will include design and implementation of
solicitation campaigns and other fundraising projects, organization and
leadership of meetings, direct contact with donors, and preparation and
oversight of donation fund budgets. This position will lead the fund
development program and work with staff, the Development Committee, the
TBABS Advisory Council, and other volunteers to maximize the opportunities
to create a broad base of donors for TBABS. The secondary purpose of this
position is to market TBABS¹s services throughout the state, including
implementing a marketing plan, representing TBABS in various venues, and
production of articles for publication.
TO QUALIFY
Your PD 100 application form will be reviewed to verify that you have the

Four years of experience equivalent to an executive assistant,
administrative analyst, researcher, or administrative officer which included
administrative duties, provision of technical assistance, or operations
review. Two of the required years must have included administration or
oversight of an on-going fund development project or program.
A Bachelor¹s degree in business Administration Management, Public
Administration or a closely related Field may be substituted for up to two
years of the required experience. There is no substitution for the two years
of fund development administrative experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Fund Development Officer works in a team-based environment. The person
in this position is responsible for the Oregon State Library¹s TBABS

Library Technician Department: Fisheries Science Classification: Full time,

Job Summary/Primary Responsibility: The Library Technician is responsible
for assisting in the maintenance of library resources and services for both
CRITFC and the fishery management community in the Columbia Basin through
the StreamNet project. The position requires experience with personal
computers, and an interest in organizing and maintaining information
resources.
The Library staff is team-oriented. Each staff member has assigned duties
and is allowed the freedom to complete those duties. As a team, the Library
staff members work together to gather information for reference requests.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Assist with the task of organizing and cataloging the StreamNet Library
by shelving materials and periodic inventory of material as assigned by
Librarian.
2. Maintain and enhance serials collection using duplicate exchange
resources, including maintaining lists of holdings and gaps in OCLC and in
library catalog.
3. Maintain list of library duplicate offerings for comparison with needs
and wants lists from other libraries by using computer resources and email
discussion lists.
4. Assist in providing library services (reference, circulation,
inter-library borrowing, document delivery) by using standard reference
sources (print, compact disc and online).
5. Work with Library staff by assisting with the processing, records
management, and physical organization of materials as well as the
development of electronic collections and library access tools, i.e.
bibliographies, acquisition wish list, and the Library catalog.
6. Work with Library staff to assure smooth and effective operations by
creating and continually evaluating existing systems, resources, policies,
and procedures/methods.
7. Other duties as assigned and as appropriate to CRITFC and StreamNet goals
and purposes.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree (Science preferred), or equivalent combination of

School's primary study space. Work with the other Catlin Gabel Librarians
for ordering materials and coordinating overlapping services.
Inventory the holdings in the Upper School Library as needed. Maintain the
updates and support for the Dynix Library Server. Provide technical support
for a variety of presentations/projects for students and adults. Act as an
advisor to group of students in the Upper School, working closely with
parents and other teachers. Attend all Upper School and all School faculty
meetings. Go on class trips and participate in other school wide events.
Qualifications:
BA or BS is required / MLS preferred. Teaching background preferred. Two to
three years previous experience, preferable in a school library setting.
Requirements:
Significant computer skills in acquiring information including online
searches. Knowledge of library skills, including cataloging. Use of
Internet/Netscape, e-mail, Dialog, Dynix Scholar, and other appropriate
computer applications. An ability to be flexible, tolerant, supportive of
teenagers' developmental needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of and the ability to apply the principles set forth in AACR2,
LCRIs and the LCSH. Knowledge of and ability to code cataloging data in
accordance with the US MARC format. Knowledge of and the ability to search,
edit and input cataloging data into OCLC or other large bibliographic
database. Ability to sit at a computer and use a mouse and keyboard for most
of the day. Physical ability to bend, reach, stoop, and grasp library
