Washington County Cooperative Library Services, Hillsboro, Oregon,
announces the opening of the position of Senior Librarian for Outreach
Services.  This position is responsible for managing the Outreach
Services Program including operations, planning, budgeting, and
supervision of personnel.  The Program provides direct service to
special populations in the following service areas: homebound residents,
jail inmates, child care providers and the children in their care, and
non-English speaking residents.  Outreach supports the Youth Services
Committee and countywide youth services activities in coordination with
member libraries.  This position participates in the Cooperative's
Management Team, and serves as liaison for Outreach Services to the
Library Directors' Board.  WCCLS has a strong homebound program serving
approx. 500 residents who are unable to get to local libraries.  WCCLS
has also implemented innovative programs addressing early childhood
literacy training for English and Spanish speaking child care providers
through education and materials development.

Qualifications for the position include Master's level training in
library science from an ALA accredited program and increasingly
responsible experience in professional library work.  The salary range
is $3986 to $4844 per month.  Applications will be accepted until March
