[Libs-Or] Banquet in honor of the Horner Exchange librarians

As many of you know, two visiting librarians from China, Ms. Zhang Jinhua of the Fujian Provincial Library and Mr. Chen Feng of the Xiamen Municipal Library recently arrived in Oregon as part of the Horner Staff Exchange organized by the State Library.  They are currently guests of Deschutes Public Library and will be visiting other Oregon libraries later this month.

The OLA International Relations Round Table is organizing a no-host banquet in their honor for the evening of Friday, January 28.  We are tentatively planning to hold the banquet at the Treasure Island Chinese Buffet, 15930 SW Regatta Ln., Beaverton, OR. The food there is said to be excellent.  Details will be forthcoming as the date draws closer.  In the meantime, however, we would like to get a rough idea as to how many people might be attending this banquet. If you think there is a possibility that you might like to attend, please drop me a quick email at larsent at pdx.edu.  This will be of considerable help to us in planning the event and will help forewarn the restaurant as to how many people they can expect.

I hope as many of you as possible will be able to attend to wish Ms. Zhang and Mr. Chen well during their last days in Oregon.  A good time promises be had by all!
