ORSLA Breakfast to Offer Provocative Insights from a Lighthouse Thinker
Join your colleagues Saturday, Sept. 17 for the Oregon Chapter of the Special Libraries Association's Annual Breakfast featuring the insights of SLA candidate for president Stephen Abram. His presentation titled "The Perfect Storm: Libraries in the Google Age" promises to be provocative and entertaining.
Abram is a prolific writer and speaker on issues affecting the future of librarianship. Jenny Levine, the Shifted Librarian writes, "He 'gets' everything - the whole enchilada - and he's incredibly good at articulating it! When Stephen talks, you'd better listen!"
In 2002, the Library Journal named him one of the 50 key people who are influencing librarianship and in 2003 SLA awarded him with its highest honor, the John Cotton Dana Award. Abram is Past-President of the Canadian Library Association and an SLA Fellow.
