learning is seeking an Acquisitions Technical Assistant to join the staff of
the W.W.  Clark Memorial Library.  The library has a team oriented and
rapidly changing environment and the position requires flexibility and a
spirit of cooperation within the team and the library as a whole. 

Principle responsibilities include: ordering firm orders in all formats,
claiming and receiving those materials and monographs copy cataloging.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of standard library
systems & procedures as they apply to the position including a working
knowledge of the acquisitions and cataloging modules of an integrated
library system (preferably Innovative Interfaces), and a bibliographic
utility, (preferably OCLC).  Advanced computer skills with working knowledge
of computer applications necessary to the position including Microsoft
Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).  Additionally, this candidate will
possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the
ability to work effectively with library staff and vendors.  Physical
requirements include the ability to move through the stacks, retrieve books
from library shelves, access catalog drawers & move a loaded book cart.
Bachelor's degree preferred. 

Starting salary for this position will be in the $27K range.  Comprehensive

General Description of Duties: The Senior Librarian in Technical Services is

Qualifications:  The minimum qualifications for this position require a
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in education or a

Salary:  Approximate annual salary - $49,130 to $73,560.  Range reflects
retirement contributions by employee and employer.  Employer paid
contribution plan is available with a reduced gross salary.
